It is given to prevent typhoid fever caused by certain bacteria called S
Typhi
It is usually administered at least 2 weeks prior to expected exposure to S
Typhi
Biovac Typhoid 25mcg Injection is administered by a doctor or a nurse
You should not be self-administered this vaccine at home
It is recommended for travelers to areas where a recognized risk of exposure to typhoid exists
Its effectiveness lasts for around 3 years from the time of vaccination
Booster injection is required every 3 years to provide continued immunity.
