  • It may also be prescribed along with aspirin to people who have undergone angioplasty (stent placement in blocked blood vessels of the heart)
  • This helps to prevent blockage of a stent by blood clots.
  • It should be taken with food, preferably at the same time each day
  • It is important to keep taking this medicine regularly even if you feel well
  • If you stop taking this medicine, it may increase your chance of having a stroke.
